All About The University of Western Ontario
Founded in 1878 by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth and the Anglican Diocese of Huron as "The Western University of London Ontario," Western is one of Canada's oldest and most well-known universities. The first students graduated in arts and medicine in 1883.
The University is located on 155 hectares of land along the banks of the Thames River in London, Ontario - a thriving city of 432,451 people, 200 kilometres west of Toronto.
Housing: Students who are single and entering university from high school have space in residence guaranteed. You must have received an offer from the school for full-time admission by mid-May. To retain your guaranteed space, your deposit of $600 must be received in our office by the deadline date outlined on your offer of residence. (Please note that students registered at Brescia, Huron or King's are ineligible to apply for residence on main campus.)
Any student who enters with a 90% average or greater and lives in residence for the first year will be guaranteed a spot in residence for their second year.
